Day 1: Arrival in Athens—Athens City Tour
After the guest arrives at Athens Airport, we will transfer you to your hotel for check-in. After registering, you will enjoy a 4-hour tour in Athens, followed by dinner. Our travel recommendation for the first day in Athens is to explore the beautiful Plaka (the old town) and the charming Monastiraki district.
Plaka, the best area for walking in Athens, preserves many 19th-century streets and interconnecting alleys. In addition to experiencing Greece’s ethnic charm, visitors can also browse freely for unique souvenirs in the numerous small shops that are densely packed in this area. Situated in the heart of the city, Plaka is surrounded by green spaces and historic sites, including the National Garden, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the Acropolis of Athens. Its core area is formed by the east-west Kydatheneon Street and the North-South Adrianou Street. Here, expensive restaurants and cafés blend wonderfully with the ruins of ancient buildings. The daily lives of local residents and the constant stream of global tourists are on full display.
Day 2: Athens City Tour and Acropolis Museum
You will have a full-day to explore the most iconic sites in Athens, including visits to the Acropolis, Athens’ renowned architectural trio, comprising the Academy of Athens, the University of Athens, and the National Library, as well as Syntagma Square and numerous other locations.
The Acropolis comprises the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike (also referred to as the Temple of Victory Without Wings), the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Theater of Dionysus (also known as the Sanctuary of the God of Wine), and the Temple of Olympian Zeus. You will also climb Areopagus Hill—the place where Paul preached to the Athenians.
Then, you will head to the site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896—the Panathenaic Stadium (commonly known as the Marble Stadium). To the right of the Academy of Athens is the University of Athens. These 3 impressive neoclassical buildings were constructed in the 19th-century. The university was designed by the Danish architect Hansen, while the other 2 were completed by his brother, Theophile, and by Ernst Ziller. All 3 buildings feature richly decorated interiors and are surrounded by garden sculptures, making them significant examples of Greek architectural art.
The Temple of Olympian Zeus is the largest temple in ancient Greece. It was dedicated to Zeus, the King of the Gods in Greek mythology. The Parthenon is the best-preserved temple, while the Temple of Olympian Zeus was one of the most structurally robust constructions of its time, dating back to the 6th century BC. Over a hundred enormous marble pillars originally held up a large temple, allowing one to envision its former grandeur. Currently, 15 columns still stand upright, with one additional one lying on the ground. However, the sheer scale of the ruins evokes a powerful sense of ancient grandeur.
Day 3: Departure to Zakynthos
After breakfast, take a luxury bus to Killini (3.5 hours), then take a 1-hour ferry to Zakynthos. Upon arrival in Zakynthos, proceed to the hotel for check-in. After checking in, you will have 3 hours for a guided tour led by a professional guide. You will have the opportunity to stroll around the charming town of Zakynthos and sample some local wines and cheeses. Zakynthos Island is a dreamy destination with a rich history and culture. It prides itself on producing and selling olives, as well as a variety of local olive-based products and crafts.
Day 4: Zakynthos Tour – Full-Day Boat Trip in Zakynthos
After breakfast, drive to the port of Agios Nikolaos and board a pirate ship to visit the Blue Caves and Navagio Shipwreck Bay (4–5 hours).
The famous “Navagio” has been nationally recognized as one of the top 10 geological beaches in the world. Its name was inspired by the shipwreck of the “Panagiotis” in October 1981. This is a unique beach, with striking white limestone cliffs plunging into emerald waters. The wreckage of a ship is partially buried in its small white pebbles, making it one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The beach is only accessible by boat from the sea. The famous Blue Caves, which were discovered in 1897, can also be seen. After lunch, drive to the Navagio Viewpoint to admire and photograph the panoramic view of Shipwreck Bay.
Day 5: Tour of Kefalonia Island
After breakfast, head to Zakynthos Port at the designated time to take a fast ferry to Kefalonia Island. Upon arrival in Kefalonia, proceed to the hotel for check-in. Explore the largest of the Ionian Islands and discover breathtaking views, magnificent natural landscapes, exotic beaches, and picturesque seaside villages.
Day 6-: Kefalonia Tour
Enjoy a full-day bus tour of Kefalonia Island! Start from Myrtos Beach, made famous by the film Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. You will visit the stunning Myrtos Beach, considered one of the most impressive along the Mediterranean coast. Then, head to the Drogarati Cave, which is filled with stalactites and stalagmites. Continue on to Melissani, where sunlight shines onto the water, causing its color to shift from blue to green to purple.
The tour then stops at Agia Efimia, a colorful and peaceful village nestled in a bay on the eastern side of the island. Sailboats from all over the world anchor here, and the mix of languages heard in the local tavernas and bars has become part of the village’s charm. Finally, explore the fishing village of Fiskardo, where you can enjoy a bite at one of the painted seaside tavernas. You’ll taste fresh seafood, local cheeses, honey, or delicious white wine.
